Yamaha calls their new MT-07 middleweight standard hyper-naked. At 72.4 horsepower and a peppy bike ultra-responsive to the gas, I knew this ride would be entertaining. Heavily modified, this descendant of the 1980s XJ550 takes the definition of standard from decent to impressive. The MT-07 features a stiffer frame without added weight. It is designed for smooth gear shifting. This model works as a street or sport bike, with plenty of new accessories for better comfort. It’s no wonder Yamaha calls it their biggest overhaul in the history of the MT-07.
